I’m Phillip Russell, Director and Driver Trainer. I have almost 40 years of driving experience in both automatic and manual cars in a number of countries. I set up Skills First Driver Training because of my love of driving and desire to work with people who want to learn and develop lifelong safe car driving skills. I believe everyone should have the opportunity to experience the freedom and independence that driving can provide, but with skills that enable every road user to complete their journeys safely. I’m a fully qualified Driving Instructor, with the most up-to-date training qualification and Skills First Driver Training is fully insured.
Beyond my driving experience and qualifications, I have worked in physical and mental health care and local government as an Urban Forester. These roles mean I treasure nature and the natural world, I’m calm, friendly and supportive.
